49ers Sneak Past Rams, 17-16

Wow, it’s great to say the 49ers are starting 2-0, with a nail biting finish to defeat St. Louis. I have to call out the offensive playcalling- it is absolutely horrendous, either Alex Smith doesn’t have it together or Jim Hostler doesn’t know a run play from a pass play. San Francisco has the statistically worst offense in the NFL and I am not surprised. They need to wake up before they venture to the Steel City to face Pittsburgh- which could easily go up on us early and we could never recover.

Our win yesterday hinged on whether Jeff Wilkens could make a ridiculously long kick and he missed- I was so happy, I don’t know about Jeff because I spotted some tears on his face. Cheer up just go to the next game with a better, meaner attitude. The defense is improving and I am noticing that they are trying this year- it’s just the offense that I worry about now. I would even go as far as to say that Frank Gore wasn’t very impressive except for his 43 yard TD run. Once Alex Smith can get it together, then I will believe that this team has the potential to be as great as they were in the past.
