Jerry Rice Flip-Flops on 49er Season Prediction

Jerry Rice, earlier in the past year, came out with a book in which he doubts the validity of the current 49ers team. He says in his book:

“As for the San Francisco 49ers I don’t see a bright future the way things are going now. I know the players on the roster are merely OK. Young quarterback Alex Smith is overrated and is not the next great 49ers QB.”

“John York, the current owner, is more interested in marketing and promotional opportunities than he is in bringing top-flight players to San Francisco.”

Now , as early as after the Colts/Saints game, he completely turned that around and predicted San Francisco to win the NFC West. He had alot of respect for Gore who he has been keeping a close eye on. He should have sticked to his guns but hey there’s another career for him if he wants it- a politician. Well let’s see how our “overrated” QB can perform this year- hey Jerry maybe some thought you were overrated at some point, so don’t be quick to judge something that takes time. For all you know Alex could be even greater than Joe Montana- all you got to have is faith.
