I cannot believe that in this article Mr. Schein picked the Cardinals to not only win more games than the 49ers, but also win a wildcard spot. He’s reading way too much into their coaching changes, the fact still remains that they cannot win big- maybe it has something to do with the humidity, who knows? Well here is the excerpt about the NFC West:
NFC West
1. Seattle Seahawks
Head coach: Mike Holmgren, 16th year, 9th with Seahawks
2006 record: 9-7 (1st in NFC West) lost in divisional playoff game to Chicago
Schein’s projected record 10-6
Mike Holmgren’s outfit is still the class of the most competitive division in football. Shaun Alexander is healthy and will get back to his MVP form behind Walter Jones, still the best tackle in the business. Matt Hasselbeck and Deion Branch will become a prolific duo in the vertical passing attack. The Seattle defense boasts perhaps the best linebacker trio in the NFL in the 4-3 defense with Julian Peterson, Lofa Tatupu and Leroy Hill. Deon Grant will add teeth in the defensive backfield, while former Falcon Patrick Kerney will bedevil the opposition’s quarterback
2. Arizona Cardinals
Head coach: Ken Whisenhunt, 1st year
2006 record: 5-11 (4th in NFC West)
Schein’s projected record 9-7 (wild card)
I will be that guy — the Cardinals are headed to the playoffs! I love what new Ken Whisenhunt is bringing to this team. And by bringing offensive line coach Russ Grimm with him, Edgerrin James will get back to his old form. Matt Leinart possesses the “it” factor and has the perfect targets in Anquan Boldin and Larry Fitzgerald to truly sizzle. Arizona’s defense is shifting to a 3-4 and with guys like Adrian Wilson, Bertrand Berry and Darnell Dockett, it will be a success. There is too much talent on this team.
3. San Francisco
Head coach: Mike Nolan, 3rd season
2006 record: 7-9 (3rd in NFC West)
Schein’s projected record 8-8
We are always “Rollin with Nolan” but not enough to push the Niners into the playoffs quite yet, though we won’t be surprised if it happens. Mike Nolan’s defense is beefed up with stud rookie Patrick Willis and high-priced free-agent corner Nate Clements. Alex Smith will continue to improve. Vernon Davis could emerge as his go-to target with Darrell Jackson’s injuries and the bizarre move of bringing in Ashley Lelie. As long as the broken hand doesn’t equal a fumbling problem, it will be another potent season for Frank Gore. Joe Staley contributes right away at tackle.
4. St. Louis Rams
Head coach: Scott Linehan, 2nd year
2006 record: 8-8 (2nd in NFC West)
Schein’s projected record 7-9
Marc Bulger is one of the game’s elite quarterbacks, destined for another huge year. Steven Jackson is officially one of the best running backs in the NFL. But we aren’t sure either one is a magician. Torry Holt isn’t 100 percent healthy. I am not convinced Drew Bennett is consistent enough to make a difference. The offensive line is decent at best. And then there’s the defense, which despite the presence of good looking rookie Adam Carriker, cannot stop the run and is seriously flawed. The upside for the Rams is the playoffs, but the downside is a frustrating season where deficiencies come to the surface.

I would agree, he overshot on the Cards and under-valued the Niners and Rams!
