They preview the NFC West, in this article, and of course they predict the Seahawks to do well, but they say that the SF 49ers are getting up there. They say that the 49ers are the closest to catching Seattle, and I would not disagree with that assumption. It is time that they challenge for the division and aiming higher, the NFC title. Here is the 49ers analysis:
San Francisco could be the closest. The 49ers have been out of the playoffs four consecutive years, compiling a 20-44 record. But last year, the 49ers beat the Seahawks twice and now, with quarterback Alex Smith going into his third season, Frank Gore established as one of the league’s premier running backs and the defense fortified in free agency, they expect to become a playoff team.
